Husband and wife, she has just had a wee show at the Tate Britian.
I really know nothing about either of these two artists, I stumbled accross a room at the tate with an beautiful and interesting display of Kim Lims work while looking for a film suggested by a tutor. I quickly sent Photos to Khilner, who, yes, knew all about her and had used her for context in her unit 1.
The work was sublime and mysterious but felt so familiar all at the same time and I investigated.
As I was leaving I visited one of my favourite talisman always takes me back to now and grounds me, never remember his name, but aloyt of my female shadow forms I trace back to my love of this standing form.
I desided to send Khilner some other photos and I recalled her story about Kim Lims famous and fabulously successful Husband which was why she was so eclipsed, I looked up their story...... William Turnbull, never heard of him, liked this work and then had a funny feeling. I pulled up an image of my favourite female standing form. My search revealed is creator was William Turnbull.
although Lims work never took female form, i may be ill informed, their exists for me a a link between this figure and her work I cant exactly explaine, it just a feeling. These connections and webs of experience and feelings fascinates me.
