A web link to be able to revisit and remember?
Alice, take away, party bags, mementos.
In units 1 and 2 my research question explored if an ‘Art Piece’ could leave a residue with its audience and could that residue be considered Knowledge.
I concluded it could, my research indicated that Knowledge could be acquired if the ‘learning process’ was adhered to, otherwise what was experienced would not become knowledge . The experience would just remain a moment in time, an experience that could not be defined as knowledge. That ‘experience’ could be a useful one, change moods, or leave a moment of inspiration but it would not point to anything and would be difficult to recall without ‘a tag’ of some-kind .
To learn, and it is generally accepted we are hardwired to, we need to reflect.
Reflection may be independent or guided, if guided what we experience becomes a particular type of knowledge. Guided learning is thought to be the most effective way of acquiring knowledge.
I would like to explore this, in unit 3 specifically in connection to my first and third pathway of research, although I believe the other two pathways will surface at times as they are all inextricably linked.
Looking for magic.
Being given gifts.
to give and to receive - Nat king cole sings about learning to be loved in return. It is a two way experience, a magical experience in itself. Mary Oliver talks about turning trauma in to something positive in her poems, while dying becomes eulogised in the religious paintings of Caravaggio .
I am drawn to the way Peter Doig makes the everyday magical.
