Unit 2 - Context. Pure Beauty or Art Brut why does it attract?

Well, that was something that both John Baldessari and Dubuffet both believed and said.. a lot.

I'm not sure if I find any of their work beautiful or brutal may be at the time in their times these terms applied to what they were doing. Both produced work that I find curious and in that way, I find it interesting. That is what draws me to it, the ideas behind it, I want to pick it to pieces work it out like a puzzle. Paintings that are puzzels. I find the contrast and the similarities amusing and attractive.
