Spirit Painting
Thoughts and feelings about knowledge combine with the thought that we came from the sea.

There is something very spiritual, primeval, and simple, about watching the sun setting on the horizon while looking out to sea.

I transferred a photo of the spirit painting onto a smaller canvas and have started reworking the image -the new scale is interesting.

Louise Bourgeois's thought sketches - Hokusai's waves, Van Gough's stary night. A Chagall like Lilith woman in the sky. The Yin and Yang fish coupled with the Salmon of doubt, a nod to Douglas Adams and his thoughts on knowledge.
It made sense there was a balance which I would like to try and retain.

I printed up the photo of daisy looking out to sea. It worked well on the transparent paper and I stuck it down with the EVA on the larger canvas. I gathered up my small oil sketches and references and set to work on the larger canvas.
